Catching Fireflies

Sometimes life is about the simple joys. Those little moments in life that make your heart smile.

This week my hunny and I went to Georgia to spend some time with my brother’s family. People that we always enjoy being with.

We hiked Stone Mountain and watched the lasershow spectacular. We went to the Medieval Times dinner show and enthusiastically cheered on our knight. We went to an animal sanctuary. And we drove all over to see the local sights. All wonderful moments.

But the true highlights of the trip were the simple moments. Just playing in the yard with my nephews and dog-niece. Throwing the football and a stick. And at night, chasing and catching fireflies.

There is just something about being barefoot in the grass with the stars overhead and a firefly between your hands that makes you feel like a kid again. And that all is right in the world.

It’s a priceless souvenir from my trip. And every time I think of it, I smile from the inside. 🙂
